What is ESOL infusion?

ESOL infusion is a multifaceted approach to incorporating into the teacher education curriculum additional or modified content, assignments, field experiences, and assessments that focus on English learners' academic success and linguistic development. Effective ESOL infusion is based on interdisciplinary collaboration and provides an explicit focus on English learner issues throughout the curriculum, thus making the meeting of English learners' needs a natural part of the program of study as opposed to segregating EL issues into stand-alone ESOL courses.
